[ He glances toward the kitchen, finally spotting the annoying intruder making her way through the window. Too late to stop her now, unless ... well, it would be terribly mean to close the window on her.]

[Also a pro at ignoring him as her sneakered feet hits the tiled floor. A few sniffs later, Kate's poking at the chops in the pan. Interesting.]

I hope you're having veggies with that.

[ There's a clear look of annoyance on his face, if the slight curl his lip says anything. Annoying- Annoying, absolutely annoying is the only thought that's running through his head right now. ]

Of course not. I hate vegetables.

Just like I hate ice cream and you.

[Both total lies. Especially the last part. This is called denial.]

Did it give you a stomach ache? I hope it did.

[ A lie for her lies. This is called a jackass. ]

[Oh, she knows what he is already, but she doesn't know why she sticks around him nyway. Because instead of leaving the apartment, she just settles herself on the windowsill, looking as comfy as can be.]

Nope, it didn't. Too bad for you, huh? It was delicious too. Cookies and cream with sprinkles.

[ There's a nagging part of his brain that's slightly worried she might fall off the ledge. Not that his lips will ever speak the words. He wanders over the cooking pan, flipping the steaks out onto a plate on the counter. ]

I can buy ice cream whenever I want, Pipsqueak. By the way, next time you call me, I'm going to block your number.

You know, blocking my number after you give it to me kind of defeats the purpose of giving it to me in the first place.

[A part of her wonders why he doesn't call her since he obviously has her number and it doesn't seem like he hates too much. She only gets a couple people calling her--Bill and Ted--but they don't count since they live with her. It would be nice to have somebody outside of the duo seeing what she's up to, considering the people she's mostly close to still aren't here in the City.

Kate's not that stupid, Amory. After all, the fire escape is right there.]

Besides, I bet I'm the only person who calls you anyway.

I didn't expect you to pester me constantly. Like this. I guess I shouldn't have expected anything else from you.

[ He shakes his head as he says this, gesturing toward Kate with pseudo-disgusted huff. ]

And no, Chase bothers me too. He's actually more annoying than you. You should feel good about yourself.

[ He never calls people for small-talk. It's part of the package deal that comes with being an anti-social prick. Though it might be to soon to say, he may be opening up to more calls. Slowly. He did bother Chase to get ice cream during the curse. But Kate doesn't need to know that. ]

I always feel good about myself, with or without your approval.

[She's not familiar with this Chase guy, only seeing him around the Network, but if he bothers Amory that much, she has to give Chase credit. If she was the bother people type Amory makes her out to be, Kate would double or triple her efforts.]
