[ What this is is a photograph of an apartment building, couches, lamps, books and tables in their proper place, except for two cats floating in the air. One's upside down, the other is right side up and both seem moderately pissed. Okay, scratch that. Tremendously aggravated. ]

[ Right now this is the Blue Light. Maybe not so theatrical and obviously CGI'ed, but you get the picture. Floating patrons, amber ale and colorful cocktails suspended in mid-air, patrons swimming-- spinning in the air like spacemen in the galley of a rocket ship.

Amory's a little more stable than the rest, floating a few inches off the ground as he mixes together a Tom Collins. The only way this is getting done is with a hand over the top of the cup to keep the drink from leaking out. A bottle of Gin and Seltzer water float handily next to him. Even then, the drink is probably not mixing right, each component like oil on top of water (air, in this case). Thankfully, no one seems to care in the midst of this curse-- or they order other things.]

I thought a flight in a Vomet Comet would be as close to zero gravity I'd get.

[ He's clearly talking to himself, the bar patrons too engaged in catching their floating drinks to bother him. ]

That was fun, this is better.

[ooc: Watch what happens when a mun forgets she's changed time zones! Please pretend this was forward dated to around 7 PM? >> ]

[ Amory, on the other hand, doesn't think much of it at all. He had known him in passing, the occasional cursory pleasantry of co-workers, but besides that, is exit is non-consequential. It has nothing to do with Priestly himself, nothing he did to Amory-- this is just his default mode when it comes to others.]

One of his friends will surely say something.

[ He's seen enough of this bouncing and floating in the past 24 hours to be moderately accustomed to it, enough to muffle a string of laughter in favor of focusing on that order of tequila. ]

They're laughing too. Probably enjoying themselves, despite the curse.

[She knows that Dawn was close to Priestly, so she hopes for her sake that the guy really is just stuck to his ceiling, network device out of reach. In response to this, Claire only nods, moving on to the subject closer at hand.]

Honestly, it could be worse. It's actually kind of fun once you manage to get the hang of it.

[Claire lets her feet go, so that they hover out behind her, nearly leveled, as she holds onto the bar.]

I'd be out there with the rest of them, if I didn't have to work.

[ One secret of Amory's: His dream job? Spaaaace man. This is as close as he's going to get, sadly, he thinks.

He copies her effort, using the inner panel of the bar to launch him into a slow, mid-air spin. The limes he had just been holding are still floating where he left them. ]

Bet the cats aren't having this much fun.

[For a moment, Claire looks impressed, raising her eyebrows and inclining her head at his spin.]

Why do you say that? Aren't they floating?

[ Don't think he didn't catch that. ]

Do you think cats like to float?

[This time she actually isn't going to great lengths to hide it, though her expression immediately melts back in to neutral to disguise both the fact that she's impressed at all and that she let it show. Her eyes narrow.]

If a cat floats and you're not around to see it, does it really hate it?

Maybe there's something else watching them being upset.

[ Whatever does he mean by that? He's not explaining, that curse is over. Instead he offers her a single raised eyebrow, as he takes to dicing a bowl of lemons and lime. Don't think he didn't catch that flash of an expression, though he lets it pass without bringing it up.

Each squiggly rind floats into the air like dangling worms; they're even color-coordinated, one yellow, one green. ]

I posted a picture on the network. [ He shakes his head. ] They don't like it.

[It seems like an odd comment to just be throwaway, and Claire spends a brief moment mulling over it, watching the rinds dance in front of her. She has an instant craving for gummy worms and bites down on her lip to shut it up.]

Are you sure they weren't just pissed off because you were taking a picture of them?

[ He likes to throw out these vagaries. It's sort of entertaining watching people pick apart things they'll never know for certain. A weird power over people.

Or maybe he's just a dick. ]

I don't think they noticed.

[Claire shrugs, as if to dismiss the matter, then blows air out of her mouth so that hair that's managed to come loose from where she's tied it back drifts slowly up around her head.]

How much longer on those drinks?
