Instead of an "Oh hay, I've been quiet again" post or an awkward accidental voice post this time, how about I go for something trendy and jump in with an probably open-ended, overdone question? At least we have an diverse sample group in the city: Heroes, neutral parties, and unmoral filth all around. And remember, No need to dress up your answer with lies to present yourself in a good light.

If you were put in the situation of either saving your own life or a large group of people, what would you choose? Self-interest or altruism?

Oh, and another far less important question. Why is the female species a such fickle and temperamental creature? You have to wonder how they can be so damn sensitive.

A: Altruism. Always.

B: Because we hate you.

[identity profile] girlwithabow.livejournal.com 2009-06-01 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
A. Because think about it. Could you live with yourself knowing you could have saved so many people but you chose not to?

B. That's because Eden and I are smart.

I'll give you an answer when it actually happens. People who answer now are idiots.

That was the worst attempt at a fake joke I've ever heard.

Are we assuming that it's a definite sacrifice or be sacrificed?

I think that's something you assume automatically when you define the term "woman". I still don't understand my unrequited love of my life some days.

[identity profile] sword-boy.livejournal.com 2009-06-01 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. I would depend on my situation. I would generally take the action of saving others, although if the sacrifice of many could help bring the end of the Worm in my world, I would sacrifice them. The destruction of the Worm are worth the sacrifice.

They are... I love my Misakinu very much!

Depends on who's in the group.

I'm sure women have their own, mysterious rational for it that we'll never understand.

Anyone I feel obligated to die for, yes.

A complication that some people find attractive.

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2009-06-01 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
The far more important question: Will you survive the next twenty-four hours after making such a remark?

[identity profile] i-themagician.livejournal.com 2009-06-01 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
That might depend on who the people are and why they're going to die, but I think I'd default to altruism partially because I'm already dead.

I've never noticed this, personally. Perhaps you've been associating with the wrong sorts of ladies?

[identity profile] i-themagician.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
I call discrimination.

The kind that know exactly what they want and seldom change their minds. They do exist, I've met some.

If the large group of people were my family or children or Esther was among them-I would choose to die for them.

If they were killers and murderers-I would deal with them.

[identity profile] mercifulsun.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'll give up my life-for them.
