[ Walking barefoot along the sand may be a fool's idea during a hemophilia curse and in the middle of winter, but that's exactly what Amory is doing. It's that or trudging across the shore with lumps of sand in his socks. Good thing he isn't cursed, and that he needs something to wake him up.
Even with Amory around, the beach is pretty peaceful. It's far enough from the city lights for the sky to remain a pure, inky black; and the only sound hanging in the air is the lull of waves against the beach. Well, as long as you ignore the echo of a yipping tea cup dog in the distance.
Amory is staring at the sea as he walks down the beach, feet tracing the line where wet sand meets dry. If you look close, you might noticethat he looks like shit the tired lines under his eyes. ]
[ooc: Please assume this is backdated at 9:30 PM on the curse day? This is Amory taking advantage of Blue's early closing for the curse. >_> ]

[There's really no reason for them to be speaking, really. It is surprising that they haven't fallen out into a screaming match by now.
Then again, the match might be coming now that Kate glances down at his feet with a look on her face that's clearly asking if he's insane.]
You do realize it's the middle of winter, right?
[Says she of the midriff bearing uniform in a snowstorm.]
action;
[ Maybe it is surprising, but then again, how much does Kate really know about Amory? She's probably seen far more the negative than anything close to admirable, but the reason he came to the beach in the first place was to let that face drop - as much as he can, anyway.]
I can notice it's snowing outside.
[ There's a shrug from him as he slips cold hands into his pockets. He should have brought gloves. ]
Cold air's a good way to wake a person up, whether your feet are exposed or you're not wearing enough clothes.
action;
[She's seen the face drop twice before and both times it ended in disappointment when he went back to his old ways. It's only human of her to hope that Amory would change, be less of an jerk to people who only want to be part of his life in one form or another. But just because she's civil to him now doesn't mean Kate has forgotten. She's just not getting her hopes up.]
Coffee works just as well, Amory. No need to get frostbite just because you're sleepy.
