[ This is Amory standing outside of the Blue Light, currently on a break and plainly annoyed at what appears to be an empty cigarette box in his hand. He scowls, slipping the trash into his pocket, as he wonders whether he has enough time to get another pack-- or more like, whether he wants to go to all that trouble.
This is Amory completely unaware THAT SUCH A HORRIFIC CURSE COULD EXIST. ]

hello young man
For the record he's not in mask or costume. A suit in the darkest purple hue under a black wool coat does well for the winter.]
well you look creepy / wsljhdjfsda sorry for late tags
Because it's far from normal practice for Amory to reach out and grab the approaching man by the wrist. And there's probably a ghost inhabting that arm of his because those fingers aren'tletting go.]

i'm a terrible person for this
That said, good nights in this place always turn into horrifying ones. Kate will soon find this out as she makes her way home, cutting down the street where the Blue Light is located, unaware that a certain person is standing out in front.]

In the end Adrian Veidt does none of these things because that one step closer brings him under the red and green spring. Also, he sees Amory's face which isn't a bad face at all. Adrian's opposite hand reaches out to grip his chin and close the distance between them, mouth to mouth. It isn't a soft delicate kiss. It's as firm as his resolve to taste this young man's mouth.]

Too bad this mistletoe is wild and rampant. ]

Tilting his head in his to one side, he leans in once again, more gradually this time, yet nonetheless unyielding when he meets his lips. One hand moves to bury itself in his hair, as Amory pulls the man closer, not that there's any distance left between them.
This mistletoe must be exceptionally strong.]

Adrian allows Amory to exert some control over the situation, well aware that if necessary he will have this exchange return to his own terms. But not yet. Nor will he invite this one back with him until he attains a better grasp on Amory's intentions...or lack thereof. In the meantime, teeth drag firmly across his lips, enough for the feeling but not enough to break the skin.]
soooobb
...Of course he doesn't miss her.

She could turn around and take another route home, but that would make it seem like she cares enough to go out of her way to avoid him. Kate doesn't, so she chooses to walk right past him and treat him just like any other stranger. Isn't that what he wanted after all?]

Amory reacts by digging his nails into his scalp, not hard enough to draw blood either, but enough to return the favor. He presumes that's the sort of contact the other wants. Yet even with his obvious fight for dominance (mostly out of pride, since Adrian had taken the first move), Amory can't help but let his mouth edge open--
This may be wear the plant begins to wear off, but Adrian doesn't know that. ]

Maybe his subconscious could manage some fraction common sense despite being curse. ]

Where nails are concerned, yes Adrian likes it. How can one be so in tune under the influence of a curse? Perhaps Amory is an excellent reader of body language. Perhaps there's more to Amory Felix than meets the eye. When his mouth edges open it's Adrian's tongue that dips between his lips, but briefly.
He bets Amory bites.]

Kate roughly shoves him off of her, no matter how gentle he is, and wipes her mouth off.]
Get off of me!
[She's gripping his shirt to shake him silly, but instead of shaking, she's kissing him back and kissing him back hard. Damn the mistletoe she didn't notices hanging there.]
/needs to find an angrier face for him... winter break mission sob
He might have, he might have not. Either way, Adrian won't be finding out because just a moment ago, Amory Felix shoved him away. Hard.
Livid would be a good way to describe his expression. ]
-- What the hell are you doing?
[ Note that Amory never uses the word hell. ]
to fully express his RAEG
You owe an explanation as much as I do.
[He counters in that crisp practiced American accent.]
joining the bus to hell... (and sorry so late)
Amory?

... Maybe it wasn't that. Maybe there was another reason he wanted to avoid her.
But anyway, he steps back to make a dash for it, except that damn mistletoe takes no prisoners. He continues to kiss her, but now there's enough force behind it to be considered a real kiss. If Kate thought a chaste one was bad, then this one will make her cringe for days.

Um. Hello.

[ In other words: It's not my fault.
Adrian might notice the fact that Amory's trying to avoid his gaze. As forceful as he was and as caustic as he is, this situation is still awkward. Embarrassing, even. He hasn't forgot the kiss- kisses. ]
Forget about it. It's the City playing silly tricks on us, again.
no subject
Are you asking to be dismissed?
[What a shame that would be, to forgotten an admittedly curse-induced but otherwise breathtaking experience. It's a not-so-simple question phrased so simply, but for Amory's sake Adrian doesn't level his gaze on the young man's eyes.]

[ Here comes a sigh. ]
Today's a curse, you know?
no subject
[ There's acid in that last word. Temper takes precedence over embarrassment, and his temper was already strung taught. Adrian's demeanor? That air of self-importance? The fact that Adrian had acted as though he held power over him? To need his permission-- what a bunch of shit. ]
Go fuck yourself.
[ Coarse, undignified, and perfect for the situation. Amory makes a move forward so he can stalk off before the other man can taunt him again. ]

action
[ He has a good idea why Promise is calling him out, and it's a welcomed distraction from the prior events. He as about to return to this shift, anyway. ]
Don't worry. I'm coming back inside. At least there's a counter there. [ Meaning- a counter to separate him from the customers' lips. ]
action
[She walks outside full and turns to look at him, curiously.]
Is something wrong?

Since we're on the theme of intrigue, have another herring, Adrian. Whether you notice it or if just assume it to be part of the curse, there's a flaming
bushsprig of mistletoe above where they first kissed. An accident out of anger, really. He doesn't even realize it himself. ]no subject
